All hear, all hear! Both Christian and Muslim leaders are expressing a moral imperative to be green. When I heard that I laughed at the thought and at first I thought it was just a necessary response to a cultural problem. But after some consideration, I can see a logic to it, there is a history of caring for the earth embedded in the Genesis story and there are parallels to the Earth being our resource from God. So maybe there is a moral imperative to sustainable living. Whatever the outcome of these religious leaders prompting sustainable living, I think that it is a positive thing to create a cleaner environment and promote sustainable living and working environments. Yet I am not convinced that we should be writing it into religious credo.
