What is our responsibility? I drove past a grass fire and kept on going. My assessment was I am not a firefighter and if I pull over to help I could just get in the way of a fire truck or just not be useful. Or something simpler, like someone has a flat on the road, they should just call AAA or some roadside assistance or just solve it themselves with a spare. As technology and access to services improve, how does our social responsibility change? Mobile applications are giving people access to an increasingly power network of resource. In some ways we are growing closer and in many ways we are becoming more dependent on the devices and memberships. Today, I went on a hike and saw a man that appeared out of place running from the back porch of a home. It might have been the homeowner or a construction worker with permission to be there, or it could have been an attempted burglary. I chose to keep walking, but it made me think about what we should act on and what we are responsible for.
